Senators, MPs and the leaders of all parties in Parliament were among the cooks and servers at the event, attended by more than 2,000 people. The lunch-hour crowd raised $125,000 for the Red Cross campaign.

 

barbecue-th.jpg (52289 bytes) More than 2,000 people turned out on Parliament Hill Sept. 28 for a lunch-hour fund-raising barbecue in support of victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in the United States. The cooks included Prime Minister Paul Martin and U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins, as well as Senators, MPs and the leaders of all parties in Parliament. The campaign in support of the Red Cross relief effort raised $125,000.
