Anglicans Pat Love of
the anti-poverty group, Faith Partners, and Rev. Canon Garth Bulmer, the chairman of the
group, pose with the Dorothy OConnell Award presented to the organization by
the Poverty Awareness Week committee at a ceremony at Ottawa city hall March 1. The Faith
Partners ecumenical coalition took a leading role on behalf of the poor and held weekly
vigils at the Canadian Human Rights Monument each week for nine years in opposition to
social policies of former Conservative Premier Mike Harris. |
